I Didn’t Choose To Love You
I didn’t choose to love you is not a conclusion, but a dialogue about love. Ten Saudi women bravely opening up about what love means to them, and representing it in their everyday lives. The work is about breaking silence, speaking louder, and inviting the viewer to join the discussion. In a culture where love exists as a mirage, distant and quiet; I didn’t choose to love you is where the mirage begins to fade, allowing love to become loud and visible.
ما اخترت أنا أحبك ليس اعتراف، إنما انفتاح على معنى الحب. في ثقافةٍ شُكّل فيها الحب كالسراب، بعيدًا وصامتًا. هنا، عشر نساء سعوديات، يفتحن القلوب، ويقدمن أصواتهن بجرأة، يتحدثن عما يعنيه الحب لهنّ، يعبّرن عنه في تفاصيل الحياة اليومية، يكسرن الصمت، ويرفعن الصوت. من خلال ما اخترت أنا أحبك يزول السراب، ويُصبح الحب واضحًا، مسموعًا، ومُشاهَدًا
